Toolkit Introduction#

Purpose

Ensures consistent, accurate GIS data statewide to support call routing and emergency response.

Intended Use#

The Oklahoma Next Generation 9-1-1 GIS Toolkit is a collection of GIS data toolsets developed to enable local, county, and state GIS stakeholders throughout Oklahoma to prepare, compare, validate, adjust, and submit locally managed GIS data to a statewide repository in compliance with Oklahoma’s Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) data standards.

NG9-1-1 Standard#

NG9-1-1 relies on accurate, standards-based GIS data for location accuracy and call routing. The State of Oklahoma Geographic Information NG911 and Addressing Standard, available here, defines the required structure and content for all GIS data used in 9-1-1 systems. It aligns with NENA NG9-1-1 standards and ensures data consistency across jurisdictions.

All GIS data used in NG9-1-1 must meet these standards.

State of Oklahoma NG9-1-1/GIS Repository#

The State of Oklahoma NG9-1-1/GIS Repository aggregates data from local GIS authorities into a single, statewide dataset that supports the Emergency Services IP Network (ESInet). The Toolkit enables local and state partners to edit, validate, and submit NG9-1-1 GIS data, ensuring reliable and synchronized information statewide.
